The Suffering Church
Recently we gave some time over in one of our gatherings to pray for Christian brothers and sisters who are suffering from persecution.
Details are given below of three organisations supporting the suffering church, each of which has a comprehensive website with information and regular updates on the situation of Christians under persecution, or the threat of persecution, around the world. The fourth organisation (CSW) is more of a campaigning organisation, promoting freedom of religion and belief through various activities.
They are all fund-raising charities, but three of them also have a strong emphasis on promoting and supporting prayer for the suffering church. The links below are to the ‘about’ pages of each organisation and for their prayer briefing pages (except CSW).
It is well worth spending some time browsing this material to get an informed view of the nature and scale of the challenges facing our brothers and sisters, but also for the faith-building encouragement of many testimonies to God’s amazing grace to his suffering children.
